When the chief physician at Metro Hospital finds himself being investigated by a Federal Agent, he's forced to abandon his attempts to bring the dead back to life via an experimental serum. With the help of his evil assistant, they dump the bodies in the nearby swamps and hope to bury their secrets. Little do they know that the serum works and soon the dead are rising to the surface with one goal in mind to eat human flesh! The zombies wreak havoc on everything and anyone until a group of college students researching the swamps team up with a backwoods hermit, a sunbather in the wrong place at the wrong time, a park ranger and a police captain to try to piece together what's going on or die trying!
