Plot synopsis: Drawn by the glitter of show business, local beauty queen Millicent leaves behind the security of her small-town home and makes her way to New York. It doesn't take her long to learn that life isn't as easy or glamorous as it seemed. Driven by dire need, Millicent soon falls prey to heartless touts and the dreaded sexually transmitted disease - syphilis. Will Millicent ever be cured? Will she ever live a normal life and marry Wendel, the one man who truly loves her?
